At 8PM on Lidia Celebrates America, join chef Lidia Bastianich on a cross-country journey to discover American holiday traditions. At 9PM on Nigella: At My Table, Nigella highlights relaxed entertaining and brings festive flavors to familiar and traditional fare. At 10PM on America's Test Kitchen Special: Home for the Holidays, the cast shares great tips for planning a stress-free gathering! 

Tuesday at 7PM, on We'll Meet Again, join Ann Curry as two Korean War veterans look for fellow servicemen from nearly 70 years ago. At 8PM on Call the Midwife Holiday Special, relish a fourth helping of this award-winning series, its most unpredictable yet. On An Evening at the Governor's Mansion: A Christmas Celebration at 9:30PM, New Orleans jazz singer John Boutté performs at this celebration hosted by Governor and Mrs. John Bel Edwards. Boutté has appeared on the HBO series “Treme,” and one of his songs is the theme song for the series. Then at 10PM on Sherlock on Masterpiece, rejoin Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in 1890s London. 

Wednesday at 7PM on LPB's Louisiana Public Square: News About the News, we ask how viewers can distinguish between factual and fake news, and whether social media is blurring the difference. At 8PM on Animal Babies: Mountain Babies follow mountain babies as they battle extreme weather. At 9PM on NOVA: Apollo's Daring Mission, hear astronauts and engineers tell the story of how Apollo 8 paved the way to the moon landing. Then at 10PM, meet the genius engineer and tireless inventor whose technology helped create our wireless world on Tesla: American Experience

Thursday at 7PM, Father Brown's divine inspiration is called upon when Kembleford comes under threat of an alien invasion. At 8PM on Doc Martin, Louisa and Morwenna persuade Martin to find Buddy a new home, and Martin is not impressed by Angela's alternative approaches to medicine. At 9:30PM, on Wallander Season 4 on Masterpiece, with his memory failing, Wallander draws on primal instincts to crack a very old submarine mystery. 

Friday at 7PM, get news from across the state on Louisiana: The State We're In. That's followed at 7:30PM by Washington Week. On Portraits in Architecture at 8PM, the work of Marc and Nada Breitman focuses on housing for people on fixed incomes or low-wage work. At 8:30PM, see an encore of An Evening at the Governor's Mansion: A Christmas Celebration featuring New Orleans jazz singer John Boutté. Then at 9PM on Great Performances, celebrate Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday with this tribute concert hosted by Audra McDonald. 

Saturday from 7-9PM, enjoy your favorite British comedies. On A Place To Call Home at 9:05PM, Jack and Carolyn's big day arrives, but has Sir Richard done enough to spoil it for them? On 800 Words at 10PM, George is under orders not to write about a newspaper story about an eight year old mystery. Then Iggy Pop performs on Austin City Limits at 11PM

Sunday at 7PM on Little Women on Masterpiece, as circumstances change for Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, the family must come together to face their most difficult challenge yet. At 8PM on Victoria Season 2 on Masterpiece, Victoria decides to try her hand at foreign relations and goes toe-to-toe with the French king. (Season 3 of Victoria premieres Sunday, January 13 at 8PM.) At 10PM on Jamestown, a boat from England arrives and Yeardley receives instructions heralding a political change.

Entertaining this holiday season? This classic spinach and artichoke dip is a warm, cheesy appetizer that will be a hit at your party! Food blogger Adrianna Adarme uses artichoke hearts and Worcestershire sauce for flavor.

Here are the ingredients for cheesy perfection:

  • 1 small shallot, minced (about 1 tablespoon) 
  • 1 garlic clove, minced 
  • 6 ounces fresh baby spinach  
  • 6 frozen (or canned) artichoke hearts, thawed and roughly chopped 
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan-Reggiano 
  • 1/2 cup grated low-moisture mozzarella, plus more for topping  
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons creme fraiche (or sour cream) 
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-4 teaspoons hot sauce of choice (add less or more depending on desired spice level) 
  • Salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon) 
  • Tortilla chips or slices of bread for serving
